Crystal River Manatee Swim

The Crystal River Manatee Swim and Cavern Dive Combo Trip
For Snorkeling and Diving (All Year Round)

The Crystal River Manatee swim is a safe haven for manatees year round, and more specifically it is considered home to year round residential manatees. Multiple idle speed zones, fresh water, significant food sources, and even sanctuaries provide these residential manatees with reason to settle, allowing the ability to have snorkel encounters with these amazing creatures every day of the year. Transient manatees flock into Kings Bay of the Crystal River by the hundreds as the Gulf of Mexico temperature drops below 72 degrees, which is also the constant temperature of this spring fed river. On chilly winter mornings our boats are enclosed, creating a wind-free shelter for warmth before and after being in the water. Another way we accommodate our customers is by the guides being in the water assisting anyone new to snorkeling and to just enjoy this incredible encounter. A unique and successful trip comes from education on how to interact with the manatee and the guides extensive in water experience gives you just that. While on the boat and in the water, the guide videos the tour, giving families one more option of remembering this unique experience on a DVD. The Crystal River Manatee Swim is followed by a scuba dive for the certified divers that are in the family...

So Divers don't fret, after the manatee snorkel a 50 foot cavern dive is provided at Kings Spring, one of Florida's popular Diving Sites! Open Water certification is required and the Divemaster leads the dive through Kings Cavern, an overhead underwater environment that is supplied with natural light. Non-diving family members can also enjoy snorkeling the spring where they see turtles and fish like mangrove snapper, mullet, snook, sheepshead, guppies, tarpon, and birds like cormorants and anhinga. Whether you choose the Crystal River or the Homosassa this is a must see and do on your next vacation!

The Homosassa River Manatee Snorkel
Snorkel only and seasonal (winter months).

For those wanting a more secluded manatee encounter, American Pro Manatee Snorkel Center offers the premium Homosassa River manatee snorkel during the months of November to the first of April. This river is a well kept secret (compared to the Crystal River) visited by less people, less boats and boat traffic, creating more intimate manatee time for the in-water participants. The Homosassa River is also shallower, typically only 3 to 6 feet deep so resting manatees are more easily seen. Our guides accommodate our customers by assisting anyone new to snorkeling and a successful trip comes from education on how to interact with the manatee and the guides extensive in water experience gives you just that. The guide videos the tour in the water and a copy is available on DVD so as to remember this unique experience. Again hot chocolate is provided, and the boats are not only covered but also are nice and warm for the boat ride back to the docks. Being the premium tour, wetsuits are complementary; breakfast is included after the 6:30 am and lunch after the 9:00 am tour. Don't forget that if you check in at the dive shop the day before and stay the night at Seagrass River Resort Waterfront Lodging our captains and guides meet you and your family at the boat docks just outside of your front door for the Homosassa tour. After all the fun the boat returns to Seagrass for the video presentation, breakfast or lunch, and just in time for showers before check out. For all the fun *Contact Us* or call toll free 1-(800)-291-3483 and well see you here.
